A Message of Hope

Find out what Jesus says about hope, and eternal life.

A Message of Hope

The Sinner

You must admit that you are a sinner.

In the Bible we are told that, "...all have sinned and come short of the glory of God;" (Romans 3:23) This literally means that we have "missed the mark." The Bible also says, "…the wages of sin is death," (Romans 6:23). Death is actually separation from God and ultimately, that means eternal punishment. Man can avoid this eternal punishment called Hell, but he must first admit that he is a sinner in need of a Saviour.

The Saviour

You must believe on Christ as Saviour

The Bible says, "...Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved..." (Acts 16:31) You must realize that you cannot save yourself. The Bible also says, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." (Ephesians 2:8,9)

God, in His grace, or undeserved favour, sent His Son, Jesus Christ, into the world to save sinners like you and me. That concept is clearly expressed when we read, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)  Another proof of this tremendous truth is,

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. (Romans 5:8,9)

You cannot be saved by your works because God has said that there must be a blood substitute for our sins. Again the Bible repeats, …and without shedding of blood is no remission. (Hebrews 9:22)

To believe means to put trust in or to place full confidence in what God says. It was for our sins, yours and mine, that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, left heaven and gave up His life that we might be forgiven. You must believe that Jesus Christ is God’s Son, that He died for you, that He was buried, that He rose again, and that His precious blood has paid the penalty of your sins.

The Solution

You must confess your faith in Christ

The Bible says, That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

(Romans 10:9,10)

Christ invites you to receive Him. You can receive Him today.

The decision is now yours. Won’t you pray and ask Christ to be your Saviour?

A typical sinner’s prayer might be:

"Dear God, I realize that I am a sinner in need of a Saviour. I believe that your Son, Jesus Christ, died in my place as my substitute. Please forgive me of my sins as I turn from them. I now trust Christ as my personal Saviour. I ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen!"

If you have prayed this prayer and truly meant what you prayed, you are now saved.

These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. (1 John 5:13)
